Dr. Haddock recently moderated the Plastic Surgery Hot Seat Podcast.  The topic was: Breast – Capsular Contracture – BIAALCL point vs counterpoint reconstructive vs cosmetic enbloc and he hosted expert Plastic Surgeons Pat McGuire, MD and Trent Douglass, MD.

The conversation ranged from benign capsular contracture following breast augmentation or implant based reconstruction to more severe capsular disease such as breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL).  The three surgeons discussed the need or lack of need for enbloc capsulectomy based on clinical research.  Concerns over breast implant illness were also discussed.
